Author Visits
Virtual School Visit - New for 2020/2021 School Year!
More economical and flexible than an in-person school visit,
you may customize it to fit your school's size by adding Q&A sessions to provide students with a more personal author experience.
Virtual School Visit Package fee is $250 and includes:
-- a prerecorded 30-minute presentation (personalized to include your school's name and photo) which teachers may show classes at their convenience prior to their live, virtual Q&A session. Presentation shares Suzanne's journey to become an author, details about her engineering career prior to becoming an author,
the inside scoop on what illustrators do, how her book Astronaut Annie soared to the ISS and was read by an astronaut, plus a short Apollo quiz.
-- two live Q&A sessions (20-25 minutes each) via the platform of your choice (Skype, Zoom, etc.) where Suzanne will show how a book is made, do a fun science experiment, and answer all student questions. For K/1st grade, author will also read a book.
-- links to more video resources by the author such as "How a Book is Made", book readings, and video of astronaut Anne McClain reading Astronaut Annie.
For a more personalized visit, schools may schedule additional Q&A sessions for $50 each.
Schools in a 30-mile radius of Libertyville IL also have the option to purchase autographed books.
In-Person School Visit (not available at this time):
Suzanne has visited hundreds of elementary schools.
She presents up to four 45-minutes sessions per day.
During this visit she shares ...
- how she became an author
- an Apollo quiz with fascinating details from her books
- how her book Astronaut Annie soared to the Space Station
- an *amazing* science experiment
- how a book is made (including research & edits)
- a behind-the-scenes video of what authors really do
- and answers to all student questions (Yes, all of them!)
Use the form below to reserve your author visit date or ask questions.
