Sibert Honoree, Suzanne Slade, is the author of 150 children's books,

an adoptive mother & a mechanical engineer who worked on rockets.

She often writes about women in STEM, her Chicago hometown heroes,

space, and more. Her books are enjoyed by children around the world (plus Hamilton actresses, Grammy-winning singers, astronauts, and 

the Chicago Symphony Orchestra!)
